Happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome to your Thanksgiving addition of Michaela’s thoughts.

I’m not a typical thanksgiving-er. To start, I don’t like turkey. I know, it’s very un-American. But when you sit down and really think about it, do you even like the turkey? I have this theory that everyone just makes this whole ordeal about this turkey preparation, however it’s more about tradition then anyone actually liking a turkey.

Also, I come from an immigrant family, so every American holiday has a light sprinkle of Eastern European charm on top. My family’s table doesn’t usually feel authentically Thanksgiving-esque, until this damn turkey shows up. (That I don’t even want.) With all this being said, Thanksgiving is about so much more than a turkey or whether you family makes mac and cheese and greens or Mediterranean salads with a side of herring and caviar.

Thanksgiving is about taking a moment to audit your life. What have you done this year?

What have you accomplished?

What opportunities were you presented with?

What do you have that you don’t normally acknowledge? Who do you have in your corner?

All these questions lead to the whopper of them all, “What are you most thankful and grateful for?”

My answer is simple – YOU.

Every dream I’ve ever had, both as an adult and a child, I live out every day because of my clients. That’s you.

I dreamt of starting a business right out of college. I wanted to do things my own way. It didn’t really make sense to anyone, but I didn’t care. I wanted a business that could provide a sense of safety and security for people as they buy/rent and create their homes. In my personal opinion, creating a home is a creative and spiritual experience, it’s sacred. Having a teammate by a client’s side is essential. You all have allowed me to be that for you and your networks for nearly 9 years!
